Vandana Shiva’s talk on Radical Compassion broadcast on KPFT’s “Alternative Radio” this morning has much to say about current ecological crisis and its economic and epistemological roots. It includes a discussion of Gandhi’s daily prayer for increased compassion, and speaks to the mechanisms behind the depredations that are the subject of Amar Kanwar’s The Sovereign Forest, currently on view in the Menil’s Experiments with Truth: Gandhi and Images of Nonviolence.
