Houston NVC: Communication Fueled by the Power of Compassion
Houston NVC: Communication Fueled by the Power of Compassion is a nonprofit dedicated to sharing the transformative process of connecting based on the principles of Gandhi’s “soul force,” the process known as Nonviolent Communication, created by Marshall Rosenberg.
Nonviolent Communication (NVC), also known as Compassionate Communication, is a simple set of language and communication skills developed by Marshall Rosenberg that help to resolve conflicts, create harmony in relationships, and build lasting peace. NVC is used by people throughout the world in interpersonal relationships, families, business and organizational structures, and in broader social change efforts.
Some of Gandhi’s principles put into practical terms by Nonviolent Communication include:
“You must be the change you want to see in the world.”
“Nobody can hurt me without my permission.”
“Always aim at complete harmony of thought and word and deed.”
